What Boeing product(s) or service(s) do you work on?
In the Modeling and Simulation team, I’m developing capabilities to redefine how airplane systems are designed, modeled and tested for current and future aircraft. The library blocks that I make will standardize the design engineering process across Boeing, creating an interconnected system.

How will your internship experience at Boeing influence your future career?
One thing I never realized until interning is the possibilities truly are endless at Boeing. I work in Product Development, and within that alone are numerous teams performing different assignments. Outside of that are hundreds of positions in the business units.

What have you learned as an intern that you wouldn’t learn from your coursework?
Professors try their best to teach every aspect of an airplane in one semester, but I learned that to understand what encompasses an airplane is to explore it firsthand. To see the progression of the build from start to end has allowed me to see the “behind the scenes” engineering work that is hidden beneath the finished cabin interior and polished exterior.

What's something you wish you knew before you started your internship?
I wish I knew the power of informational interviews when I started my internship. I knew that as an intern I had the opportunity to ask employees in other departments for informational interviews if we were interested in their projects. However, I was so overwhelmed with all of the departments in Boeing that it took me a few weeks to have my first one.
