What about Boeing's mission and the work we do inspires you?
Boeing’s mantra has always been “Build Something Better” – and that is what the company has done. Boeing’s perseverance over the years is due to its focus on connecting to and protecting the world, inspiring world change, exploring the unknown and always innovating into untouched territory. The company culture is known around the world and maintains its name by the networks and products made.
What internship do you participate in – Business, Engineering or IT & Data Science Analytics?
I am currently in a software/systems engineering internship!
What Boeing product(s) or service(s) do you work on?
I work in Avionics supporting the Power Electronics and Continuous Integration Build and Release team.
What's been the most rewarding project you've worked on as a Boeing intern? What did you do specifically on that project?
The most rewarding project I worked on was developing a robust structured help desk and ticketing methods to allow over 100 developers to search for a list of known bugs/issues/fixes using Jira and BANI software. I led the initiative on this project because I realized how important/needed it was for my team.
How will your internship experience at Boeing influence your future career?
This might seem subliminal, but the things Boeing is a part of are unlike any other company or practice. They are first-class innovators and world changers. Because of all this, I knew Boeing was the company I needed to be a part of. I know I will be at Boeing for the rest of my career because it is a limitless company to work for.
How do you think we are pushing the limits of aerospace technology?
I believe we are the forefront of aerospace technology. Boeing is making it its mission to be a part of the future, and it is easy to see with Boeing NeXT.
Describe 1-2 things you’ve learned as an intern that you wouldn’t have learned from your coursework.
There are so many things that I’ve learned through my internship that I would not have learned otherwise. This ranges from seeing my technical abilities come to life through the product I’ve made to seeing my interpersonal skills manifesting into leadership skills.
What's something you wish you knew before you started your internship?
The most important thing I wish I would have known prior to starting my internship is to remember that your internship is what you make it. Do not expect to go into something that’s completely laid out for you. Make sure to let yourself be uncomfortable because that’s where you will grow the most.
