Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an associate or experienced Facilities Equipment Engineer reporting to the Equipment Engineering Manager, working onsite at our Winnipeg, Manitoba office.
The Facilities Equipment Engineer leads project teams to develop complex specifications, conceptual and final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the procurement or modification of equipment systems (e.g., NDI, ovens, autoclaves, furnaces, machining centres, etc.).
This role is up to 12 Months Term at Boeing Canada Operations Ltd.
Position Responsibilities:
Reviews equipment specifications and/or designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of process engineering, practices, and materials and takes appropriate corrective action.
Performs and documents condition code analysis of complex equipment as part of a team.
Reviews records, inspects, measures, and tests to document assets operating and maintainability condition for the purpose of determining whether to continue to operate, repair, surplus, or replace.
Controls hardware, software and documentation configuration of complex equipment in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements to ensure a maintainable, repeatable process.
Assists in the development configuration management policies and processes.
Creates cost estimates for the acquisition and/or installation or modification of complex equipment to support customer budget and business planning activities for current and future year requirements.
Incorporates maintainability and reliability principles into all designs.
Ensures the integration of equipment with related infrastructure.
Creates, reviews, revises, maintains, and organizes equipment documents and drawings for complex equipment in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
Assists in the development of equipment testing and acceptance standards.
Utilizes project management tools to plan, manage, and execute multiple major/complex projects
Manages project expenditures within authorized budgets.
Assists in the creation of contract scope, terms, and conditions.
Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements.
Improves existing equipment reliability.
Ensures that new equipment designs address maintainability and reliability principles.
Incorporates maintainability and reliability principles into all specifications.
Research technologies, processes, materials, and methodologies related to complex equipment
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of relevant experience in the engineering field (such as, facility, electrical, equipment, etc)
Must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of Engineering
Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as an E.I.T (Engineer in Training) or P. Eng. (Professional Engineer)
Knowledge and application of configuration management principles and methods, relevant to equipment and associated equipment documentation
Must be proficient in MS Office based applications
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
3+ years of relevant experience in the engineering field (such as, facility, electrical, equipment, etc)
Experience with either: CNC equipment, facilities equipment, cloth cutters, or ultrasonic
Experience within the manufacturing / aerospace industry
Experience in project management
Should have well-developed facilitative, communication, problem-solving, organizational and team-building skills
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
