Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management, reporting to the General Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.
The Director of Supply Chain Management will provide strategic leadership within the function and actively participate in strategic planning and execution at the site level, collaborating with various stakeholders to foster a transparent culture. This role involves engaging with Enterprise-level teams to develop and refine supply chain business systems, processes, and strategies. The director will lead the team in fostering effective leadership development, managing risks, formulating category strategies, ensuring quality compliance, promoting safety, advancing supplier development, and driving improvement initiatives.
Leveraging strong business acumen across multiple disciplines, the director will focus on driving sustainable improvements both within the organization and with supplier partners.
This senior leadership position requires exceptional visionary skills and a proven ability to create and implement supply chain strategies that impact various business functions, including EHS, business operations, engineering, HR, quality, and manufacturing.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers in support of their personal development/growth and career goals.
Ensures Enterprise improvement initiatives are implemented within the Supply Chain function and at an operations level.
Effectively interacts with senior management, cross-functional leaders, and other key internal and external partners.
Acts as an authorized agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements including delegated authority audits.
Manages employees and mid-level managers from multiple Supplier Management and Procurement disciplines performing activities related to the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, management and improvement of supply chain processes, risk management, work transfer, category strategies and supplier diversity.
Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Provides oversight regarding negotiation strategies, processes and related tools.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
8 years of senior leadership experience
Experience within supply chain management
Experience with implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on functional and site level priorities
Experience in coaching employees and utilizing employee development tools and processes
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25%
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience working within a manufacturing organization
5 years’ experience in leadership within Supply Chain Management
Degree in Business related field with Supply Chain Major and/or Supply Chain Professional Certification
Must have post-secondary education
Experience working in a highly regulated environment
Experience with the application of lean principals and/or systems thinking
Experience in project management disciplines
This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
