The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) KC-46 Tanker Program is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and inclusive Senior Mission Systems (MS) Engineering Manager to lead the Mission Systems engineering team from Everett, WA or Tukwila, WA.
The Mission Systems Senior Engineering Manager will oversee a team responsible for production support, upgrades, and sustainment of KC-46 Communications, Navigation, Mission Computing, Military and Tactical Data Networks, and Defensive Systems. This role will focus on supporting KC-46 production and development programs for both domestic and international customers. This role will report to the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Mission Systems and Labs capability leader and will closely coordinate with the KC-46 Chief Program Engineer and the KC-46 Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage Mission Systems employees performing engineering and technical activities in support of KC-46 production, delivery, and development programs.
- Perform Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management; develop and execute integrated plans, policies, processes, and procedures for Mission Systems.
- Interface with BDS Mission Systems leadership and other teams across the enterprise to ensure proper project planning and implementation, fulfillment of assistance needs, and incorporation of lessons learned.
- Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
- Manage, motivate, and develop employees; acquire new resources for organizational activities.
- Support study contracts, IRAD, and new business proposal campaigns.
- Provide technical management of suppliers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 5+ years of experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management.
- 5+ years of experience working within a fast-paced team environment, which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with leadership or internal and external customer representatives.
- 5+ years of experience in a management position.
- Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule, and technical baseline requirements are met.
- Earned Value Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience and knowledge of Mission Systems.
- Prior experience and knowledge of KC-46.
- Prior experience and knowledge of airworthiness certification processes.
- Experience with engineering integration on production and development programs.
- Experience building an organizational talent pipeline in engineering.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.
- Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
- Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.
- Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $191,250 - $258,750
