Position Overview:
BGS chemical business is seeking an EHS Specialist - Chemical Regulatory Compliance to join the team in Singapore.
The receipt, storage, packaging, shipment, import and export of chemicals and other regulated articles is an area of high risk for The Boeing Company. Errors can result in fines, suspension of capability, regulatory fines, negative publicity, returned product, serious safety issues and rework. Ensuring accurate data, processes and systems as well as conducting internal audits and providing training and updated regulatory information to leadership can greatly reduce the number of errors and minimize these risks.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure BGS sites comply with various regulations related to the purchase, receipt, storage, packaging, shipping, import, export, disposal of chemicals and regulated articles around the world.
Lead interaction with regulatory agencies include, but not limited to Singapore NEA, K-REACh, AU AICIS, IATA/ICAO, IMDG/IMO.
Use SAP and multiple systems to support operation with the management regulations and evaluate new technologies, related processes and data to develop strategies and tactics for effectiveness and accuracy.
Identify target audience, develop education and training materials to support regulatory and business requirements, tracks the training.
Direct vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.
Travel to facilities to conduct audits, provide training and meet with internal customers and contractors.
Lead program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent recurrence of incidents.
Report findings to leadership team and make recommendations for improvements.
Serve as a lead for regulatory agency interpretations, inquiries and investigations.
Basic Qualifications:
1. B.S. in Chemistry or related sciences/engineering or equivalent
2. Ability to ensure in-region regulatory compliance with applicable local / international regulatory requirements and internal EHS programs in APAC.
3. Minimum six years' experience with a proven record of successful development and deployment in the areas of:
- Interpreting chemical regulations
- Strong background in chemistry
- Developing comprehensive compliance programs
- Direct experience as the lead contact with regulatory agencies related to incident investigation and regulatory interpretations
- Auditing and problem resolution
- Systems improvements and testing
- Vendor management
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Current professional accreditation preferred
2. Aviation experience preferred
3. SAP experience preferred

This vacancy is for an international, locally hired position in Singapore.
Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll, and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable local law.
