Our Objectives

Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI/ML Researcher (Multimodal) to join our cutting-edge research team. This role focuses on advancing core multimodal capabilities by integrating vision, language, and other modalities, while ensuring that research outcomes are transferable to stable, enterprise-grade production systems. While our current focus includes multimodal and vision-language technologies, this role is fundamentally about using AI to solve complex problems and growing with evolving models, data modalities, and system requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with multimodal models or systems, deep expertise in at least one core AI domain (CV or NLP), and the ability to bridge research and production deployment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop AI-based solutions to solve complex, real-world problems using appropriate models and data modalities
• Formulate problems, design approaches, and evaluate solutions from an end-to-end AI system perspective
• Research, implement, and adapt state-of-the-art AI models (not limited to a specific modality)
• Build and validate scalable AI pipelines, from data processing to model inference
• Apply AI technologies—including but not limited to multimodal, CV, and NLP methods—based on problem requirements
• Translate research ideas into robust, production-ready systems
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy and maintain AI solutions
• Continuously learn and adopt emerging AI techniques and paradigms
   

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Applicants must have in-depth knowledge in machine learning/Deep Learning
• Hands-on experience with multimodal models or systems (e.g., vision-language models, document understanding systems, multimodal IE(Information Extraction))
• Broad understanding of how multiple modalities interact and are jointly modeled
• Proven expertise in at least one core domain:
• Computer Vision: Object detection/recognition, OCR(Optical Character Recognition), etc.
• Natural Language Processing: Information extraction, retrieval, RAG, LLM-based systems
• Solid software engineering skills with experience building production systems
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with at least one major framework: PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience deploying models beyond notebooks – APIs, services, edge devices or embedded systems
• Ability to read, understand, and implement ideas from research papers
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn independently
• Proper verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s  degree with at least three years of work experience
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science
• Ph.D. degree with at least two years of work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics or quality inspection system
• Deep specialization in one domain, such as document AI, RAG, Information Extraction, Vision-language models, etc.
• Good to have at least an intermediate level of knowledge in server engineering like resource management on multi-GPUs over multiple servers
• Good to have at least an intermediate level of knowledge in aviation and commercial flight operation
• Nice to have winning experience in machine learning or data science competition challenges
• Nice to have publication records in top-tier machine learning or computer vision conferences

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 머신러닝/딥러닝에대한전문성
• 멀티모달 모델 또는 시스템(예: 비전-언어모델, 문서 이해 시스템, 멀티모달정보추출) 실무 경험
• 다중 모달리티의 상호 작용 및 공동 모델링에 대한 폭넓은 이해
• 아래 중 최소 한 가지 핵심 분야에 대한 전문성:
• 컴퓨터 비전: 객체탐지/인식, OCR(광학문자인식) 등
• 자연어 처리: 정보추출, 검색, RAG, LLM 기반 시스템
• 실제 운영 시스템 구축 경험을 포함한 탄탄한 소프트웨어 엔지니어링 기술
• Python 프로그래밍 능력 및 PyTorch 또는 TensorFlow 중 하나 이상의 주요 프레임워크 경험
• 노트북 환경을 넘어 API, 서비스, 엣지 디바이스 또는 임베디드 시스템에 모델을 배포한 경험 시스템
• 연구 논문을 읽고 이해하며 아이디어를 구현할 수 있는 능력
• 뛰어난 문제 해결 능력 및 자기 주도 학습 능력
• 능숙한 영어 구두 및 서면 의사소통 능력
   

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 공학, 컴퓨터과학, 인공지능, 머신러닝, 데이터 과학 또는 관련 분야의 학사 학위와 최소  3년이상의실무경험또는석사학위
• 박사 학위 및 최소 2년이상의실무경험(공학, 컴퓨터과학, 인공지능, 머신러닝, 데이터 과학 또는 관련 분야)
• 제조, 산업자동화, 로봇 공학 또는 품질 검사 시스템 경험
• 문서 AI, RAG, 정보 추출, 비전-언어 모델 등 특정 분야에 대한 심층적인 전문성
• 다중 서버의 멀티 GPU 리소스관리와같은서버엔지니어링에대한중급이상의지식보유시우대
• 항공 및 상업 항공기 운항에 대한 중급 이상의 지식 보유 시 우대
• 머신 러닝 또는 데이터 과학 경진 대회 수상 경력 보유 시 우대
• 최고 수준의 머신 러닝 또는 컴퓨터 비전 학회 논문 발표 경력 보유 시 우대
