Within BGS, the Cabin, Maintenance and Modifications (CMM) group is the premier source for customers seeking lifecycle support through engineering, modifications, cabin and maintenance solutions to sustain and optimize performance of their Boeing in-service fleet of aircraft. BGS CMM Strategy and Business Development is hiring a Strategy Development Specialist (Experienced, or Senior) to help shape the future trajectory of our business lines, based in Seattle, WA or Plano, TX.

As a Strategy Development Specialist, you will join a team that:
Leads strategic analysis and development to inform and/or recommend critical business decisions, set strategic priorities, evaluate investment options, identify organic and inorganic growth paths, inform go-to-market planning and programmatic implementation, and much more in partnership with multiple stakeholders and leadership across BGS, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and CMM Programs.
Develops and shares independent assessments, leads and/or engages in cross-functional project teams focused on identifying the most important growth opportunities, and recommends associated requirements and investments in capability, capacity, systems and resources.
Comprehends the Boeing Enterprise, BGS, and CMM Leadership Team strategic visions, and translates that into CMM strategic alignment and integration across Boeing towards the development and management of a strategy playbook.
Leads Intra-CMM business integration, synthesis and interpretation of analytics, research, benchmarking & forecasting.
Develops integrated view of the future business environment and opportunities.
Leads CMM strategy development through partnering with functional partners.
Forges CMM leadership consensus on future Strategies, Investments, and Partnerships, and ensures strategies and investments are reflected in Long Range Business Plan.
Coordinates, facilitates and responsible for meetings regarding complex CMM business strategy subjects, building alignment and driving decision-making.
Responsible for representing CMM Portfolio and Analytics, Insights and Strategies in enterprise, functional and business unit alignments.
Responsible for supporting BGS Leadership and OneBoeing Executive Council meetings with CMM representative content, analytics, and decision support.

Experience working with or in matrixed organizations structures to drive value and outcomes through creative solutions with minimal oversight and in ambiguous environments.
Technical competencies include a thorough understanding or ability to quickly understand aerospace, after market services/engineering, and the associated engineering and mechanical value chains.
Excel in both quantitative analytics, interpreting data into insights (the so-whats?) and communicating/applying the insights to develop business concepts and strategies to achieve future CMM growth.
The ideal candidate:
Be a Self-starter with ability to work independently, develop new analytical frameworks, and provide guidance to others
Must be an analytical thinker with strong attention to data and details (both quantitative and qualitative)
Have the ability to derive insights from both structured and unstructured quantitative datasets
Clear, effective and organized written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to defend strategic assumptions and analysis through critical reviews and debate
Learn fast, listen well, ask for help when needed (and give it freely when asked)
Experience presenting oral briefings of analytic findings to senior executive audiences
Proficiency with PowerPoint, including the ability to create executive quality strategy presentations
Demonstrated ability to lead high-level strategic approaches, develop deliverables and execute processes
Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate and engage at all levels of the organization, including direct support of senior leaders
Project leadership and management experience
Expert knowledge of either commercial or defense markets, especially the aftermarket
Position Responsibilities:
Market assessment and industry benchmarking as foundation to provide insights and recommendations around business transformation opportunities.
Create innovative alternative business models and build successful business cases inclusive of growth through strategic partnerships, organic and acquisition opportunities.
Prioritize opportunities, risks and impacts informing the alignment of future company investments for CMM.
Utilize and evaluate complex models to support market forecasts and alternative scenario planning exercises.
Synthesize complex business and operational concepts into effective and persuasive stories
Present strategic hypotheses, findings, and recommendations to senior stakeholders in an individual or team capacity.
Generate new markets and competitive insights to bring the outside-in for senior leadership and decision-makers
Drive strategy-to-action (demonstrate progress on each and every initiative with an action-oriented mindset) on a wide array of CMM projects
Lead via influence, and in collaboration with, many stakeholder groups and leaders.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
3+ years of experience managing ambiguity and changing priorities in a collaborative environment.
3+ years of experience leading cross-functional programs or projects and working with senior leadership.
Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics
Strong analytic skills with experience using qualitative and quantitative data/insights to develop product, business, and services strategies.
Ability to travel 10%+ depending on business needs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other relevant advanced degree
3+ years of performing strategy or related work (e.g. Business Strategy, Strategic Consulting, Business Development, M&A, Business Planning, International/Market Analysis)
3+ years of experience in aviation aftermarket services; particularly commercial aerospace modifications and maintenance engineering, programs, or strategy/planning/business development.
3+ years knowledge and experience of the Aerospace and Defense industry.
3+ years of experience working with quantitative data; skills in the execution and interpretation of corporate and business financial analytics is a plus.
3+ years of experience driving execution of projects supporting organizational priorities and advancing projects in ambiguous environments.
3+ years of experience in business case development
Experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
Ability to incorporate latest technology and software tools into individual and team productivity
2+ years of experience with hypothesis-driven approaches and strategy development, particularly with identifying customer value propositions and gaining/sustaining competitive advantage.

Summary pay range for experienced level: 140,250 – 189,750
Summary pay range for senior level: 175,950 – 238,050
