Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including an Experienced or Senior Level Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer to join the Modeling, Simulation, and Systems Engineering (MS&SE) team located in Seattle, WA.
The MS&SE team operates in the Digital Analytics and Commercial Training organization and is responsible for maintaining and applying simulation tools to provide analysis solutions for a wide array of business and engineering challenges across commercial, government and services products. This position is uniquely situated to experience many facets of Boeing’s core businesses and works under general direction of a Technical Lead Engineer and enterprise Technical Fellows.
The successful candidate will be responsible for system & model upkeep, development of new features, and program or operational analysis. You will contribute as part of a team, to create solutions to operational and logistical challenges; many of which are unique, novel, or have never been attempted before. You will be challenged to deliver innovative solutions that advance our capabilities and apply them to real-world problems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of discrete event simulation and scenario analysis techniques to identify root-cause factors, perform trade studies &sensitivity analyses, and provide recommendations to Boeing program management.
- Build logistics and operations support models, including customized constructs in the ExtendSim environment.
- Develop simulation modeling requirements with clients; providing end-to-end solution development support.
- Engage with client teams to determine fit-for-purpose value and solution needs and provide continual updates on progress to completion.
- Coordinate (and co-develop) with LSAS teammates to develop new methods and capabilities based on client requirements and future capability demands.
- Create visualizations for new and existing models.
- Support development of long term technology requirements/milestones for LSAS products and ExtendSim at Boeing.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
- May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- 3+ Years Discrete Event Simulation Development: Demonstrated experience utilizing discrete event simulation techniques to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources at the work group level.
- 2+ Year(s) Statistical Process Modeling: Applied experience and general knowledge of statistically driven modeling techniques (e.g., mathematical modeling, simulation, design of experiments, operations research) to analyze a system.
- 2+ Year(s) Modeling and Simulation technologies: Applied experience with Alliance, ExtendSim, or equivalent modeling and scenario building tools (AnyLogic, Simul8, FlexSim, Simio, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 9+ years of higher education and/or related work experience, (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.).
- Domain expertise or experience in supply chain, logistics and fleet sustainment, military systems analysis, reliability analysis, optimization techniques
- Knowledge of modeling and prototyping tools (e.g., Matlab, MathCAD)
- Knowledge of computing equipment and its operating systems (e.g., Windows, UNIX, Linux)
- Applied experience coding in C++, Python, or a mix of both languages

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Experienced-Level Summary Pay Range: $104,550 - $141,450
Senior-Level Summary Pay Range: $128,350 - $173,650
