The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Developer Enablement & Tooling Senior Manager to join the team in Seattle, WA; Berkeley, MO; El Segundo, CA; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Oklahoma City, OK; Plano, TX; Renton, WA; or Ridley Park, PA.
As a Senior Manager in our Cloud and Developer Platforms organization, you will be instrumental in building a world-class capability that sets us apart as a leader in cloud innovation. You will challenge conventional approaches, champion a cloud-first strategy, and deliver outstanding experiences to both internal teams and external partners.
Bringing deep expertise in cloud technologies and platforms, you will lead global, cross-functional teams to foster a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and creativity. As a visionary leader, you will drive the development of end-to-end solutions that enhance the resilience, security, and scalability of our cloud services.
This role demands a strategic mindset paired with disciplined execution to keep our platforms aligned with industry’s best practices and ahead of emerging trends. You will develop strategy and ensure delivery of developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience platforms. Ensure developers can build, test, and deploy software efficiently in a secure, compliant, and consistent manner.

Position Responsibilities:
Define and maintain enterprise developer tooling strategy
Deliver and support CI/CD, source control, artifact management, and related platforms
Partner with Platform Engineering teams to integrate cloud-native developer services
Drive adoption of DevSecOps best practices, standard templates, and golden paths
Measure developer productivity, satisfaction, and efficiency through KPIs
Create and maintain centralized developer portals, documentation, and onboarding frameworks
Ensure tooling meets compliance, security, and audit standards
Collaborate with Adoption & Change Management to increase awareness and usage of tooling
Improve developer productivity and satisfaction by streamlining workflows
Provide enablement and training for developer tools adoption
Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops with developer communities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
10+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering and/or product management
10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or developer experience roles
8+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and deliver scalable platforms
8+ years of experience in a multi cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
8+ years of experience defining operational processes, implementing DevOps, and deployment checklists
5+ years of experience defining KPIs for developer productivity (e.g. Dora metrics, mean time to recovery, deployment frequency)
5+ years in leadership roles driving developer productivity or DevSecOps adoption
3+ years implementing developer self-service platforms or portals
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
5+ years of experience of container orchestration solutions
5+ years of experience with enterprise CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps), artifact management (Artifactory), and secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
Proven ability to influence senior engineering leaders to align tooling strategies across diverse business units

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $162,350 – $251,850
