Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space and Launch Organization seeks a System Administrator to support Proprietary Programs in Seal Beach, CA. You will assist in installations, perform environment set-up, and help maintain operational readiness with various operating systems and hardware interfaces.
Position Responsibilities:
- Hardware Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of datacenter hardware, including procurement, installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize infrastructure systems, focusing on virtualization technologies (VMware), storage solutions (NetApp), and other specialized network appliances, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- System Configuration and System Optimization: Configure and fine-tune infrastructure components to enhance performance, scalability, and security, while implementing best practices for system management.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and directives, including adherence to industry standards and internal policies to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support program objectives, providing technical expertise and guidance in an Agile environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the lab environment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Years of related experience: 1+ for level 2, 3+ for level 3.
- Possess a currently active Top Secret with SCI US Security Clearance (TS/SCI), or have completed a Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the past 5 years.
- Experience developing, integrating, and managing product and program lifecycle support activities to include support system analysis, spares, provisioning, technical data, training maintenance and modifications, support equipment, and facilities.
- The ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ (Sec+) or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140).
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Cybersecurity experience or knowledge.
- Threat management experience or knowledge.
- Security hardening experience or knowledge.
- User access and identity management experience or knowledge.
Typical Education & Experience:
Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range:
Level 2: $94,350 – $127,650
Level 3: $114,750 – $155,250
