Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Program Management Specialist to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) team in Seal Beach, California, Leesburg, Virginia or Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably.
The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane.
In this role, you will be supporting the program manager responsible for leading logistics and sustainment activities.
Selected candidate is responsible for developing short and long term logistics plans for consumables, spares, hardware refurbishment, factory ground support equipment and training across Boeing and supplier work scope. Selected candidate is responsible for forecasting the annual sustainment budgets across Boeing and suppliers, developing annual cost proposals, and then detailed allocations, tracking expenditures across Boeing and suppliers, and management of reserves.
The position requires a person with domain knowledge in aircraft or spacecraft sustainment operations and supply chain logistics. The position requires the demonstrated leadership to manage a team distributed across the United States. Clear and concise, written and oral communication of complex subjects to Boeing Executive leadership and all levels of customer program management is required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads development of the program architecture and top level plans for a program
- Develops program organizational, work structures, top level program and execution plans
- Identifies key program level horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners and customers
- Facilitates the resolution of program issues
- Supports the program manager in leading program execution by coordinating program metrics
- Integrates the implementation of the Program Management Best Practices
- Implements customer and program communication and contact plans
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position is for 1st shift.
This position requires an active Tier 5 (formerly SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- More than 5 years of experience in engineering project planning or project management
- More than 5 years of experience leading or managing integrated technical projects or teams across multiple organizations
- Active Tier 5 (formerly SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in Satellite or Space Programs
- Experience with experience with system integration (hardware, firmware, software)
- Experience in the implementation and use of Program Management Best Practices
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers
- Experience working with suppliers
- Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
- Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)
Relocation:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Seal Beach, California $146,200 - $180,600
Kennedy Space Center, Florida - $136,850 - $169,050
Leesburg, Virginia - $146,200 - $180,600
