The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate Airport Engineer to join our Airport Technology Engineering team based in Seal Beach, California.
The selected candidate will join a team of airport engineers to contribute to our high visibility work statement to ensure that Boeing airplanes are compatible with and have access to airports across the world. They will also make sure the airplanes strive for airport regulations that are equitable and achievable, ensure that new airplane design requirements result in minimal aircraft/airport constraints, minimize airport limitations/restrictions, and provide airplane programs support.
Position Responsibilities:
Compares airplane configurations with airport operations and infrastructure worldwide to identify incompatible airplane or airport features.
Performs on-site tests to validate pavement roughness and strength and provides recommendations.
Analyzes and documents airport infrastructure and makes recommendations for airport modifications and upgrades.
Conducts trade studies of airplane design characteristics and provides recommendations on configuration changes.
Participates in airport-related conferences, groups and industry meetings to disseminate airplane product development trends and effect regulatory and infrastructure changes.
Works under general direction.
Work Authorization Statement:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Seal Beach, CA location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Experience in AutoCAD/AviPlan and FAA Pavement Design tools.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
2+ or more years’ related work experience in airport design and planning.
Experience in interacting with airline customers, aviation industry associations, or national aviation authority officials.

Associate (Level 2): $89,250 - $120,750
