Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Part-Time Technical Writer in San Luis Obispo, CA. In this role you will assist in organizing, developing, writing, and editing publications and related data to support product requirements as well as incorporate engineering and technical content into publications as required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists in investigating, compiling, and reviewing available source technical data and writes new or changed material in compliance with specifications.
- Researches subject matter as appropriate to create and verify accurate and usable content.
- Participates in reviews to validate technical data and determine compliance with program and customer standards and requirements.
- Using various software programs (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe Creative Suite), creates multi-part documents. Inputs technical data into an authoring and/or publishing system adhering to established standards and processes.
- Verifies consistency of terminology, style, and formatting in documentation.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to perform research and investigation
- Ability to effectively work independently and within a team environment
- Technical writing and editing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Excellent writing/editing skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with desktop publishing, photo editing, and video editing software
- Able to conform and maintain technical format, style, and writing standards
- Familiarity with xml/html
- Knowledge of AGILE methodologies
- Experience with the software development life cycle

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary base pay range $54,400 - $63,000
