M&PT is looking for an Associate Manufacturing Research and Development (MR&D) Engineer based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Position Responsibilities:
Performs assessments on technologies proposed and/or procured for production
Works directly with engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to perform manufacturing process improvements and implement manufacturing technologies to achieve cost reductions
Coordinates with supplier management for purchase of production equipment, including high value capital equipment
Resolves programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance
Supports root cause and corrective action reviews by conducting engineering investigations for fabrication and/or assembly issues
Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products
Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promotes standardization across business activities
Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Integrates new technologies as appropriate
Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
Implements corrective and preventive actions
Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with 3D Modeling tools
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace, mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or material science
Experience in mechanical/structures assembly, materials and processes engineering, and/or manufacturing research and development
Experience with technology implementation
Active Security Clearance
Active Yankee White Clearance
Project Management experience
3D Printing Experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
