Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Weapons Strategy Senior Manager (Level L) to join the Space, Intelligence & Weapons Strategy team in Saint Charles, MO.
This is a unique opportunity to lead strategy for Boeing’s Weapons business. In this role the successful candidate will drive portfolio strategy, long-term growth initiatives, market positioning, and enterprise alignment to ensure the Weapons business remains competitively advantaged. Working closely with executive leadership, the senior manager will align market trends, technology roadmaps, and customer missions into actionable strategies that fuel sustainable growth and enterprise value creation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning process for the weapons business, including development of long-term strategies, portfolio shaping, investment priorities, and competitive assessments.
- Drive strategic alignment across Weapons and other BDS businesses, ensuring synergies are captured and market adjacency opportunities are maximized.
- Analyze global and domestic market trends, customer missions, competitive landscapes, and emerging threats to inform strategic decision-making and portfolio evolution.
- Identify and drive enterprise-level growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, and internal investments aligned to future business needs.
- Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, interfacing with Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Corporate Strategy teams to align execution to strategic priorities.
- Facilitate annual and multi-year strategic planning cycles, ensuring strategic objectives are well-integrated into the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP).
- Develop and champion innovation roadmaps, technology insertion strategies, and business model transformations required to sustain weapons market leadership.
- Serve as a principal advisor to the Weapons Leadership Team on strategic matters, providing insights, recommendations, and decision-support materials.
- Lead competitive intelligence activities, providing timely and actionable insights on competitors, market entrants, and disruptive technologies.
- Partner with finance, corporate development, and business operations teams to prioritize discretionary investments and R&D aligned to highest value opportunities.
- Drive a culture of strategic thinking and enterprise perspective throughout the Weapons leadership ranks.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, transactions or initiatives
- 3+ years of experience in business development, strategic planning, market analysis, competitive intelligence or any related experience
- Experience in Missile Defense Programs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Understanding of Department of Defense weapons customers and Missile Defense Agency
- Understanding of DoD acquisition processes
- Knowledge of BDS Weapons businesses and related technologies
- Knowledge of international weapons market landscape
- Knowledge of strategic missile programs and emerging technology needs

Summary pay range:
Saint Charles, MO - $149,600 - $202,400
