The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) Team in Saint Charles, Missouri is seeking a Senior Radio Frequency Test Engineer for the Outdoor Antenna Range at Smartt Field Airport, St. Charles Portage Des Sioux.
This position provides an opportunity work with an experienced, interdisciplinary, and multi-organizational team to create innovative solutions to meet unique and challenging requirements in an outdoor test environment. The Senior RF Test Engineer takes requirements from programs and applies them to range test configurations. This experienced candidate will be responsible for leading test setup, test execution, verification, and validation of antennas and radomes. A strong candidate will have a background in Electromagnetic/RF transmission theory, hands-on laboratory skills, mechanical skills, knowledge of RF lab and range equipment, strong technical judgment, and the ability to rapidly make and contribute to decisions that balance the overall test program.
This role will require strong collaboration skills to work with an interdisciplinary and multi-organizational team to complete a test program that meets customer requirements. Must have organizational skills and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Setting up, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, and using RF electronics and laboratory test equipment
Layout, setup, and termination of wiring and connectors
Interprets and implements electrical and wiring drawings and plans
Selection and installation of antennas
Working with data acquisition systems
Conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, and technologies
Designs, fabricates, builds and implements test systems, components, software, and methodologies
Conduct system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and teardown with customers
Conducts tests, processes and reviews data, and documents results; conducts/leads test readiness reviews
Coordinates range activities, maintenance, and repairs
Operates fork truck and bucket truck/lift vehicles
Coordinates shipment and receipt of supplies & equipment
Coordinates with airport operations & maintenance/grounds-keeping as needed
Coordinates with Global Spectrum Management for outdoor RF transmission
Maintains the Outdoor Antenna Range test facility, towers, outbuildings, and grounds
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
15+ years of experience working in RF measurements, Antenna Theory/test, and/or material measurements and characterization
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
MS or PhD in engineering, physics, or mathematics
Experience with the use of electromagnetics test equipment (Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, RF Amplifiers, etc.)
Experience with laboratory administration
Experience with laboratory testing of state-of-the-art digital, analog/mixed-signal, and/or RF integrated circuits
Experience with laboratory testing of antennas and/or RF/microwave/electro-optical components
Experience supporting military radar, communications, electronic warfare, or avionics/mission processor program
Active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $164,900 - $223,100
Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
