Boeing Poland is looking for an Airplane Performance Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) level to join our Flight Operations – Customer Support team in Rzeszow, Poland.
In this role you will develop, and test operational performance software applications and tools used by aircraft operators for all Boeing commercial models.
The primary focus of the team is to implement aerodynamics and airplane characteristics to plan and
dispatch flights. Additionally, they develop capabilities to automate manual calculations and to simplify
complex route planning tasks in order for our Customers to more efficiently plan and dispatch flights.
Position Responsibilities:
Analyzes engineering and supplier information to develop airplane dispatch, performance data, operational documents, and software
Develops, maintains, and supports performance ground-based software applications which offers the functionality of a collection of Boeing performance software products to support analysis and planning of all phases of flight
Provides Flight Operations Engineers support with a single point of access for Boeing’s airplane performance to support operational dispatch and flight planning data
Assists airline customers by researching and preparing responses to airline technical support issues related to operational performance software applications
Assists in training others
Works under general/minimal supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Rzeszow.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience developing software with Java SWT
Thorough understanding of aerodynamics and airplane performance
Experience with software engineering concepts, object-oriented programming, and Agile
development methodologyExperience with build systems and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD)
pipelinesFamiliarity with artifact managers and source control tools & management
Experience developing engineering and scientific applications in FORTRAN
Experience developing in Python
