Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Release & Incident Management leader, reporting to the Software Application Developer - Product Manager, working out of the Richmond, British Colombia office.
We are seeking a experienced Release & Incident Management leader with a broad technical background and extensive, hands‑on experience coordinating large-scale release programs and leading incident response for complex distributed systems. This person will combine strong technical leadership, operational rigor, and excellent communication to drive reliable, scalable, and safe software delivery in the aviation domain.
Position Responsibilities:
Own and coordinate the incident lifecycle: detect, triage, declare severity, assemble responders, run incident tech-lines, and drive resolution to restore service quickly.
Serve as Incident leader for high‑severity events: make decisions under pressure, manage priorities, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
Lead post‑incident reviews and root cause analysis: capture timelines, identify systemic causes, track corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of remediation items.
Review incident patterns, develop actionable work packages, allocate them to the appropriate teams, and drive each package to completion.
Able to expertly analyze source code, recommend and evaluate technical remedies, and ensure proposed solutions will effectively address incidents.
Manage release planning and orchestration: maintain release calendars, coordinate release scope and dependencies, and schedule production release deployments.
Leverage your knowledge and experience to make operational decisions that drive quality and innovation while minimizing risks and costs.
Own the Incident and Release Standards and Practices, ensuring alignment with Digital Services while allowing differentiation specific to program context and goals.
Evaluate and assess a variety of non-traditional approaches to problem-solving by actively seeking out and considering alternative solutions beyond standard practices.
Champion a quality‑first approach across the release and incident lifecycle and drive continuous improvement through post‑release reviews and remediation of root causes.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
7+ years' related software development experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Strong understanding of modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud‑native architectures (containers, microservices).
Practical knowledge with CI/CD tooling and pipelines.
Experience with deployment patterns and strategies: canary, blue/green, rolling, feature toggles, and automated rollback procedures.
Familiarity with automated testing types (unit, integration, E2E), CI test orchestration, and gating releases on quality/security checks.
Ability to read and debug logs, traces, and core dumps; root cause analysis skills across applications, infrastructure, and network layers.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding controlled goods.
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher
Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
Ability to inspire and lead
Knowledge of industry data standards, such as S1000D and ATA-Specifications
Experience with Aviation OEM aircraft model-specific data domains
Able to maintain team morale in high stress conditions and take decisive action when required
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.

Salary pay range - $90,000.00 - $160,000.00 CAD
