Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Airplane Strategy Specialist (level 5) to join our Airplane Product Strategy team in Renton, Washington.
Product strategy plays a key role working with product development, global airlines, marketing, airplane programs and other internal stakeholders to define the requirements for Boeing's current and future airplane needs.
This position will work to understand requirements for future airplanes and current airplane improvements. This involves understanding both the technologies BCA is working on and also the airplane needs around fuel burn, seats, range, thrust, availability, costs, technology, safety, etc.
Position Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and makes value trades across these different requirements to find the right balance for market success
- Analyzes and compares different business models and business proposals for program and production system success.
- Work with a team of experienced, multi-disciplinary analysts who partner with Product Development, Propulsion Systems Division, Aircraft Programs, Revenue Management, and Sales and Marketing to identify or analyze product opportunities
- Partner with BR&T, ET&T and PD to help align their investments with Boeing’s long term strategy
- Demonstrate an ability to integrate and balance an understanding of airline economics, engine technology, pricing strategies, industry trends and market requirements with airplane attributes and the competitive environment in order to maximize the value of our product offerings
- Understanding of airline network and fleet profitability to help model different airplane scenarios for success across the global customer base
- Financial modeling of different airplane attributes and ability to trade across different trade parameters to understand their impact on product competitiveness
- Competitive analysis and understanding of competitive moves on Boeing products and their impact on market share and competitive pricing
- Provide market insight and actively participate in product development studies
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- 5+ years of relevant aviation company or airline experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading and advancing projects in ambiguous environments
- 2+ years of experience preparing and presenting succinctly to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
- 1+ years of experience critically thinking through hypothesis-driven approaches and performing quantitative analysis on value propositions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years airline fleet planning, commercial planning, network planning, traffic forecasting or revenue management experience
- A strong team player, who has the initiative and ability to embrace leadership roles when opportunities arise
- Experience in strategy development
- Strong analytic skills with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to develop product, business and services strategies

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $158,950-$215,050
