The 737 Interiors Certification Team within Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Interiors Certification Engineers (Mid-Level and Senior) to join our team in Renton, WA. The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight.
Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. In this role, you will be responsible for statement of work that spans the product lifecycle from engaging with customer requests through supporting post-delivery changes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions through the cabin safety certification processes. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry. This position serves as a pipeline path to become an
Interior Crashworthiness/Interior Arrangement Engineering Unit Member (E-UM). Desire to progress to an E-UM is not required.
Payloads is seeking candidates with experience in any of the following areas:
Engineering support and project leadership within a certification system
Working with regulators
Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements
Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines
Position Responsibilities:
Develops, integrates and documents interior payload system certification requirements to establish the system design.
Performs or oversees approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Works with design engineers on showing compliance to the FAA regulations, developing/using issue papers, equivalent level of safety etc.
Works with or potentially as an FAA designee for interior crashworthiness.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 + years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.)
9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification
Strong understanding and demonstrated certification experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Adaptable in a dynamic work environment
Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking
Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Engineering Unit Members (E-UM), Design Approval Engineer (DAE), Certification Plan Owner (CPO), Design Engineer experience
Experience leading a cross-functional team
Excellent communication skill, both written and oral. Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences

Summary pay range for mid-level (level 3) : $96,050 – $129,950
Summary pay range for senior level (level 4): $120,700 – $163,300
