The BDS M&PT (Materials & Processes Technology) team is seeking an M&P Composites Engineer to join the Non-Metals team in Oklahoma City, OK (OKC). We are a diverse group of experts in materials and manufacturing processes where we drive development, selection, and recommendation of materials, processes, and manufacturing technologies across chemical, mechanical, and electrical systems.
M&PT plays a pivotal role in resolving challenges and providing support to engineering, manufacturing, and the sustainment of Boeing products. The candidate will be joining a team responsible for developing, defining, and driving Engineering and Technology requirements across multiple programs, focusing on Military Aircraft Platforms in the Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:
Support the design, manufacturing, and after delivery product support of maintenance, modifications, and upgrades applied to various airframes
Define requirements and approve tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products
Produce and revise specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes. Promote standardization across business activities
Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate
Review engineering drawings for correct M&P callouts and design
Collaborate in an integrated product team (IPT) environment
Interfacing with Boeing personnel, suppliers, military and government customers, and FAA representatives
Prepare and deliver presentations and status updates with clear recommendations and measurable outcomes
Support compliance with U.S. Government, ITAR, and aerospace quality requirements
Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable technical requirements. Conduct First Part Qualifications (FPQs) and equipment qualifications
Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
Implement corrective and preventive actions
Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into materials and processes, design and qualification, and work
Must be able to develop solutions to technical problems by applying working knowledge, engineering and scientific principles.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
1+ years experience reviewing technical drawings
3+ years with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to drive results
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience working with composites and elastomers and associated processing techniques
Experience with composite and elastomer failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and analysis for materials, processes and parts
Graduate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or related field
Experience in materials, manufacturing processes, failure analysis, or related roles
Experience with polymer processing, composites, adhesives or structural bonding
Hands-on experience with physical and mechanical testing, microstructure analysis, and interpretation of results
Familiarity with technical supplier coordination, engagement, evaluation and qualification
Experience collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams
Experience qualifying materials, parts and processors
Experience writing technical specifications, process documents, and test plans
Understanding of Risk Issue and Opportunity identification and mitigation efforts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also willing to work and learn from others

Summary pay range (level 3):$88,400 - $119,600
