Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Configuration Engineering Model Manager to support our fleets located in Oklahoma, OK.
The Product Lifecycle Management Configuration Engineer is an essential role in ensuring engineering data is managed, configured, released and delivered according to customers’ requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices for complex projects, including defining and maintaining system architectures using tools like '3D Experience' to ensure design consistency and integration.
- Collaboration with various engineering capabilities to achieve strategic goals, and ensuring high-quality, compliant engineering outputs
- Maintains integrated model-based process architecture infrastructures, process models, product structure definitions and/or data requirements/data management processes.
- Maintain and govern the PLM/CAD model repository: check-in/check-out processes, nomenclature, and versioning.
- Implement and enforce configuration management and data quality standards for 3D models, drawings, and associated metadata.
- Coordinate model releases and ECO/ECN (engineering change order/notice) workflows with engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
- Validate model integrity for downstream uses (manufacturing, simulation, digital twin, tooling).
- Support interfacing between PLM, CAD, PDM, and downstream systems.
- Provide training, documentation, and best-practice guidance to engineers and suppliers.
- Monitor metrics (data completeness, error rates, cycle time) and drive continuous improvement.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years experience with application of MBSE methodologies, including the development and management of system models
- 3+ years experience with working within system architectures, requirements models, and interface definitions, ensuring model integrity and configuration management.
- 3+ years experience with PLM/PDM systems and major CAD tools (e.g., Teamcenter/Enovia/Windchill and CATIA/SolidWorks/Creo).
- 3+ years experience with Strong understanding of configuration management, product structure, BOM practices, and change management processes.
- 3+ years experience with Familiarity with model-based engineering (MBE/MBSE), model validation, and digital thread concepts.
- 3+ years experience with Communication and stakeholder coordination skills; experience with supplier data exchange is a plus.
- Attention to detail, process orientation, and data governance mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in Engineering or Science.
- ENOVIA V5 and ENOVIA V6/3DX experience is preferred
- CAMEO, MSOSA experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple engineering teams.
- Experience managing high level projects for Senior Leadership and Customers.
- Experience in Configuration Management/Data Management.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for mid-level: $68,650 – 93,150
