The Boeing Electronic Products Group in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced engineer to fill a Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) role in Oklahoma City, OK. The engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test electrical assemblies and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) of varying complexity – ranging from simple, single-function units to complex systems on a multitude of aircraft platforms recognized around the world. The engineer will support full life cycle development for hardware that will include requirements definition, hardware model development, electrical design, mechanical interface design, make/buy trade studies, subsystem hardware integration and validation, associated environmental test planning and procedures, and technical troubleshooting and evaluation. As a TLE, the engineer will advise, assist, and check the work of other engineers on the team.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, and to grow and mentor early and mid-career engineers.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Perform and document design of complex electronic and electrical solutions ranging from Circuit Card Assemblies to Box-Level Assemblies, while guiding less experienced engineers in their designs.
- Apply knowledge of circuit design principles (e.g., frequency, voltage, current, thermal, bandwidth, etc.) to design, simulate and layout circuit boards and hardware.
- Conceive, develop, optimize, maintain and modify electronic/electrical system designs based on requirements.
- Provide technical coordination with internal and external suppliers and customers.
- Provide technical oversight of key suppliers.
- Perform a wide variety of complex trades studies to meet program requirements.
- Apply knowledge of electronic/electrical systems, subsystems, and components including the requirements, operating principles, design variables, performance, and key interfaces.
- Demonstrate ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.
- See and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
This position will be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Must possess an ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics or physics.
- Must have at least 14 years’ experience designing complex electronic and electrical solutions ranging from Circuit Card Assemblies to Box-Level Assemblies
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- An ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering
- Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- Experience with tools: Capital Logic, Xpedition, Siemens Layout, PSPICE
- Experience packaging electrical designs into mechanical assemblies
- Experience with communication interfaces (1553, RS-232, RS-485, etc)
- Experience with Voltage Drop Analysis and Current Density Analysis
- Experience with developing and coordinating supplier design requirements
- Experience with system and circuit level fault isolation
- Experience with box level and card level test planning and procedures
- Experience with MS Office tool suite
- Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders

Summary pay range: $135,150 – 182,850
