Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility & Surveillance (MS&B) is seeking a Certification and Applicant Airworthiness System Engineer (Mid-Level and Senior) to join the AEW&C SEIT organization in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Certification and Applicant Airworthiness Engineers use Systems Engineering Principles to accomplish Military Airworthiness, FAA, and EASA certification efforts for commercial derivative and military aircraft modifications in support of their customers for development and modification programs in Oklahoma City.
The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with and learn from others, must be detail oriented, objective, analytical, and have excellent communication skills. Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintaining certification plans and technical documents in support of regulatory compliance for FAA or EASA regulations.
- Collaborate with the regulatory authority (FAA) and internal engineering team to establish the certification basis for the aircraft systems and equipment as well as the means of compliance.
- Performs technical airworthiness planning and showing of compliance support including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for complex total systems
- Engaging with certification authorities to achieve mutually agreeable solutions.
- Performing show compliance activities as a certification applicant for the program.
- Build relationships and interface with other members of the program, subject matter experts, customers and suppliers to meet team objectives.
- Review and coordinate with other airworthiness engineers, ODA unit members, CVEs as well as internal engineering disciplines performed at all levels of total system.
- Development of Issue Papers and/ELOS for new and novel equipment and systems
- Participate in design and test lifecycle, provide input from the perspective of regulatory compliance.
- Develop solutions for complex issues related to certification and leading team members accordingly.
- Utilizing business tools and systems to research, analyze, and compile technical data.
- Adapting to changing requirements and performing well in dynamic conditions.
This position will be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- FAA / MIL Certification and/or Airworthiness experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Military Airworthiness, FAA STC projects or EASA projects as an applicant.
- Familiarity with development of Certification Plans, MIL Airworthiness checklist
- Familiarity with showing of compliance to FAA/MIL Airworthiness regulations in a specific engineering discipline
- Experience in Aerospace and Systems Engineering Process
- Desire to be mentored by technical teams
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences using a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas
- A strong desire to support certification and airworthiness efforts as a program applicant
- The desire to learn and grow into a certification expert, technical lead, DER, CVE, or ODA unit member as part of a career path
- Strong desire to execute to aggressive execution schedules and be proactive in continuing to train and grow in the certification skill set

Summary Pay Range:
Mid-Level:$90,950 – 123,050
Senior: $111,350 – 150,650
