The Boeing Company is hiring experienced Structural Analysis Engineers to join our Propulsion Structures team in North Charleston, SC. This role requires the execution of multiple tasks:
- Supports development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
 - Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
 - Supports product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
 - Coordinates and/or supports the development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
 - Supports the definition and documentation of certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
 - Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
 - Supports the development of analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
 - Works independently receiving general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion.
 
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Basic knowledge of structural analysis, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non destructive testing, corrosion prevention)
Ability to analyze structure (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products
Basic knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following engineering majors: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil, and select degrees with an emphasis in structures related course material.
Ability to support occasional domestic travel to support our customers.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with analysis of aircraft propulsion structures
Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to aircraft design, test, and certification (e.g., Part 25, MILSPEC).
Knowledge of structural repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques). Knowledge of structural repair, overhaul, nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, and composites
Experience in Finite Element Analysis including the use of stress analysis tools such as, NASTRAN/PATRAN, HYPERMESH, ABAQUS, or any other stress analysis tools.
Experience with fatigue or durability analysis.
