The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Configuration Management Specialist to join the team in North Charleston, SC; Berkeley, MO; or Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a Mid-Level Configuration Management Specialist to lead documentation governance and repository standards for the Data Integrations Legacy Modernization Program. This role will serve as the central authority for how technical documentation is created, managed, and maintained throughout the modernization effort. The ideal candidate is part project coordinator, part information architect, and part documentation enforcer - capable of driving consistency, completeness, and accessibility of critical documentation across multiple application teams and modernization phases. You’ll work directly with cross-functional teams to ensure interface control documents (ICDs), design specifications, test artifacts, and release documentation are stored, versioned, and updated properly in our centralized Alfresco Document Management System (DMS).
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as the single point of ownership for the Alfresco documentation repository used by all application teams participating in the legacy modernization initiative
Design, implement, and maintain standardized folder structures, naming conventions, and documentation templates
Set and maintain appropriate permissions and access control to ensure security and usability across roles
Coordinate with application teams to establish ownership and accountability for various document types, including interface control documents, design documents, test plans, release notes, and compliance deliverables
Track and manage documentation required for each modernization release (blockpoint), ensuring timely updates and availability
Ensure all documentation is properly versioned and accessible during audits, testing, and deployment cycles
Facilitate periodic documentation reviews to maintain alignment across architecture, compliance, and delivery teams
Provide onboarding and guidance to teams using the documentation repository
Serve as an internal advisor on documentation best practices throughout the modernization lifecycle
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience in configuration management, technical documentation, or document governance roles
3+ years of experience with documentation types across the system development lifecycle (design, test, release, etc.)
Experience managing document repositories or DMS platforms
Experience coordinating and influencing cross-functional technical teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Alfresco
Experience with interface control documentation and enterprise integration systems
Experience in Agile delivery environments or large-scale modernization programs
Experience with regulated or compliance-heavy industries

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $87,550 – $126,500
