Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring two (2) 787 Manufacturing Workplace Coach Managers (Level Ks) to lead Manufacturing Workplace Coaches (WPCs) across multiple manufacturing business units (MBUs) to successfully serve and assist mechanics, new and existing, to perform their jobs effectively & confidently. In addition, this position is responsible for developing & owning a plan to successfully govern 'Structured on Job Training' (SOJT) across multiple MBUs. These positions will support the Orangeburg, SC, San Antonio, TX and North Charleston/Ladson, SC Boeing sites. Your work location will be Ladson, SC or North Charleston, SC.
You will use interpersonal and coaching skills to help advance the skillset of our manufacturing population by providing lineside support, refreshed skill enhancement centers, and world class training opportunities. Within Manufacturing, we embrace a first pass quality approach to our work and this requires our leaders to be committed to our team members' success. You will be responsible for the development and upkeep of multiple Skill Enhancement Centers (SECs) designed to simulate the production system and allow teammates the ability to train on specific statements of work in a risk-free environment. SECs are expected to contain several Guided Skills Practices (GSPs) that are an identical replica of the airplane.
It will be critical to excel at developing effective professional relationships between manufacturing and all support groups, primarily production engineering, to ensure that the team is heavily ingrained into the most critical items in the production system. You must be well versed in clearly developing, articulating, and communicating a vision for the organization and current status to executive leaders.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead Manufacturing Workplace Coaches (WPCs) across multiple manufacturing business units (MBUs)
Manage, develop and motivate employees performing advanced technical knowledge and leadership to manufacturing projects to resolve production concerns
Develop and execute project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develop and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
Represent WPC Team in MBU Level Meetings & Tier Meetings
Develop, Lead & Execute operating rhythm between workplace coaches and skill enhancement center (SEC) leaders (e.g. SEC Tier Meetings, MEASP Oobeya Walks)
Form relationships and partnerships with Operations & Quality Leaders
Ensure proper positional alignments of WPCs per MBU, Program, and One BPS needs
Coordinate completion, reporting, and progress to plan for coaching event trackers (CETs), SEC activities, guided skills practices (GSPs), and structured on the job training (SOJT) plans
Demonstrate a problem solving & people first mindset
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of leadership or management experience in a manufacturing / production environment
3+ years of experience in advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems
3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations or support
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience leading Boeing Problem Solving Model (or similar) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
3+ years of experience in collaborative problem solving, building relationships & professional written and verbal communications
3+ years of experience in leadership development, coaching, and training for mechanics
Experience with 787 operations (or related experience)

Shift:
Expected to be primarily 1st shift, but position will be variable shift work and require supporting WPC's on 2nd shift as needed.
Travel:
Position may require up to 10% travel to other local BSC sites/campuses, with responsibility for Orangeburg, SC and San Antonio WPCs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $104,400 - $127,600
