The Boeing Company’s Health & Insurance Operations team is currently seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team in Mesa, AZ; Chicago, IL; or Seattle, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) consultation to HR team members and internal stakeholders regarding benefit issues and concerns.
- Acts as internal consultant to customers regarding benefit programs.
- Documents the Statement of Work for the vendors and/or programmers, establishes implementation schedules and coordinates with internal organizations (e.g. communications, payroll, etc.) to implement domestic benefit changes.
- Recommends benefit plan design changes and/or changes to benefit policies and procedures.
- As requested, drafts plan documentation (e.g. summary plan description, plan amendments, summaries of material modifications, etc.) in accordance with legal requirements for review by management.
- Obtains, reviews and analyzes benefit provisions and recommends potential solutions for the restructuring to meet company objectives.
- Develops solutions to complex internal administrative procedures and process or system requirements (e.g. international inpatriates, long term disability divestitures, etc.).
- Reviews and monitors data information feed files to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Contributes to the definition of systems requirements for use by IT developers.
- Researches and prepares ad hoc reports, as required.
- Researches and compiles benefit data for audits and other legal inquiries, as directed.
- Reviews and analyzes all relevant information pertaining to a benefit appeal (e.g. plan documents, past precedents prior appeals, etc.), and prepares draft response for management approval.
- Compiles data and responds to benefit surveys.
- Supports benefit vendor/carrier contract negotiations; audits vendor/carrier compliance to performance standards and develops improvement plan as necessary.
- Supports union negotiations regarding benefits; assists in analyzing benefit questions that arise during negotiations and responds to benefits related questions; assists in comparing proposal to other contracts (internal and external) to effect a solution.
- Manages third party vendors including accountability to performance guarantees and employee experience targets.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience with employee benefits
- 5+ years of experience working directly with suppliers and/or supplier management
- 3+ years of experience with systematic problem-solving skills
- Experience administering HR programs, policies, practices and processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience with processes analysis, processes development, and process improvement
- Experience developing and leading business strategy

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $102,000 - $147,200
