Boeing Technology Innovation - Europe is seeking a Experienced Systems Engineer , reporting to the Manager of Model Based Safety and Platform Systems from our offices in Madrid, Spain. The Systems Engineer will be part of the Digital Engineering (DE) Innovation Hub, a global initiative with the mission of supporting Boeing’s transition to Digital Engineering. The selected candidate will focus on system development, verification and integration of airborne systems using a Model Based approach, as well as developing the corresponding methods and solutions.

Ability to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
Position Responsibilities:
Providing systems engineering expertise to program stakeholders and leadership
Utilize Model Based Engineering/Digital Engineering tools to analyze architectures/designs and develop system engineering deliverables
Conduct research in the area of systems engineering, systems safety and product security, with emphasis in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, methods, training and tools
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Systems, Hardware or Software development
Demonstrated experience with SAE Standard ARP4754A, RTCA DO-178 or DO-254
Demonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Model Based Engineering application and toolsets (such as MATLAB Simulink, SCADE, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.)
Fluent in both verbal and written English
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry or related fields
Able to travel both domestically and internationally
Must be legally able to work in Spain
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience applying Systems Engineering principles in the Aerospace industry
Knowledge of OMG standards (SysML, UML, UAF, etc.) is a strong plus
Application of RTCA DO-331 is a plus
Experience in Commercial Aircraft Certification
Exposure/experience with ARP4761 related analysis such as Functional Hazard Assessments, Airplane Safety Assessments, Preliminary Aircraft Safety Assessments, Common Mode Analysis or Safety Assessments
Exposure/experience with product security engineering (DO-326/DO-356)
Excellent collaboration skills and experience with Agile methodologies
Coding experience (Python, MATLAB, Java, etc.)
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Typical Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Spain. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Spain. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
