The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Test Equipment Systems Architect & Integration Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA.
BT&E El Segundo STE architecture and engineering team is responsible for the development and delivery of test system solutions and Special Test Equipment (STE) engineering products to our satellite system test teams. Our STE engineering teams create non-flight engineering test products which range from PCB-level to automated multi-rack tests with custom-designed panels and test controller software.
The Lead STE System Architect designs test architectures and measurement methods to ensure Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) programs are test-ready and meet first-time quality. They create initial test concepts from program requirements, considering both new and existing STE assets and favoring proven components while identifying when custom hardware or software is needed. Once a cross-disciplinary team forms to complete the detailed design, the architect assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
The role requires hands-on experience with satellite testing using RF, digital, and analog equipment and with designing complex RF communications test systems, along with practical skills in decomposing system requirements and carrying out verification and validation. This individual will join the STE Architecture, Engineering and Design team which is challenging the status quo and driving the Model Based Engineering culture and operations outlook.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including a Lead or Senior Level Special Test Equipment Systems Architect & Integration Engineer.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Creates RF/T&C (radio frequency/telemetry & command) digital STE architectures and test measurement techniques based on program requirements. Artifacts include, but are not limited to, system block diagrams, RF gain budgets, system trade studies results and verification compliance matrices
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with stakeholders: Systems Engineering, program office leads and Test teams
Applies knowledge of product engineering discipline and design engineering standards during hardware and software reviews
Approves technical approaches, products and processes. Identifies areas of technical improvement to our internal teams and provides technical management of suppliers
Facilitates the ongoing Model Based Engineering culture and work environment shift
Develop or reviews test cases, verification compliance matrices and system level procedures
Performs cost estimating for new proposals for programs and for capital planning
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience in RF (radio frequency) measurements and testing
5+ years of experience in the use of electrical test equipment such as digital multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, vector network Analyzer and oscilloscope
Experience with satellite systems and/or space related applications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 5:10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Lead Level 4: $138,550-$187,450
Summary pay range Senior Level 5: $165,750-$224,250
