The Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) Disruptive Computing & Networking (DC&N) software capability is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in El Segundo, California.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and grow a diverse software team (~20 engineers) working on embedded/real-time and non-real-time applications.
Build and maintain a healthy talent pipeline—drive hiring, staffing forecasts, and career development.
Provide continuous mentoring, technical coaching, and formal development plans for your team.
Define and enforce software engineering best practices aligned with enterprise standards.
Oversee execution of software development across projects—ensuring technical integrity, engineering excellence, and timely delivery.
Create and execute integrated technical plans, policies, and procedures; bring strong operational discipline to program execution.
Collaborate with other technology leaders to align roadmaps, optimize resources, and maximize innovation.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years designing and developing software for real-time embedded or non-real-time systems.
5+ years with languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB.
5+ years working across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
3+ years leading/managing teams or projects.
3+ years using Agile development practices.
3+ years automating builds, unit/integration tests, deployments, and installs using DevOps tool chains (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
9+ years of software design and development experience.
Prior technical management experience with demonstrable team growth outcomes.
Experience building automated test frameworks and simulation frameworks for real-time systems.
Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is a plus.
Travel: less than 10%

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $164,050 - $221,950
