Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems has an exciting opportunity for Sensor and Measurement Integrated Circuit Engineers (Senior or Principal) to join us as part of our Boeing Electronic Products team in El Segundo, CA.
From complex digitally beamformed phased arrays for constellation satellite programs to computing and networking equipment for commercial airplanes, the Boeing Electronic Products group develops ICs that are at the heart of Boeing’s products!
Our diverse development portfolio provides opportunities to learn with exposure to the breadth of the Boeing product line – approximately half our design work is within the Space & Launch business unit, and half is from other parts of Boeing (AvionX; Missiles & Weapons; Strike, Surveillance and Mobility; and Autonomous Systems).
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers, system engineers, and hardware engineers to drive requirements capture and architect ICs to meet mission/customer needs
Understanding of foundry capabilities and necessary foundry support to deliver known good devices
Explore trade-space of potential IC technologies and foundry capabilities to determine the optimal parts, weighing Schedule, Cost, Risk, Area, Power (SCRAP) vs. performance
Stay updated with the latest advancements in physical design methodologies, tools, and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance design efficiency.
Document design methodologies, guidelines, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
Establishing circuit test and characterization test plans, setups, and methodologies for component verification and delivery as needed, inclusive of extreme environments
Specialized design and test for extreme temperatures, harsh radiation environments, ultra-low-power and low-area solutions, inclusive of establishment of best practices
Must have designed taped out at least one of the integrated circuit
Train and mentor less senior engineers across the department and help build effective project Teams
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of integrated circuit design, fabrication, or verification experience
Experience with IC architectural definition, and detailed design implementation and functional verification with delivery/release of production designs
Professional experience with hardware-based integration and test of IC designs
Proven record of leading IC design, fabrication and/or verification teams, including tracking and reporting progress to stakeholders
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Active Top Secret Clearance
Ability to executable test plans
Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and methodologies for Custom or Analog/Mixed-Signal IC design
Proficient in using CAD Tools such as Cadence Virtuoso
Design experience in Sensors, Analog, Digital, Mixed-Signal, RF domains, or experience designing and/or testing chips in more than one domain.
Experience working with foundry processes
Experience developing ICs for extreme environment applications (e.g. radiation-hardened, extreme low/high temperatures, ultra-long lifetime)
Experience with development of Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits for hardware security applications
Experience supporting military radar, communications, electronic warfare, or avionics/mission data processing programs

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Senior: $155,550 – $210,450
Summary pay range for Principal: $190,400 – $257,600
