Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Capture Team Lead (Level 5) to join the Space Mission Systems business development and strategy team in El Segundo, CA to help our customers invent the future in space systems.
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Commercial & International SATCOM. The position’s primary focus is in International Government Space, including but not limited to Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM). This mission area is complex and rapidly evolving, as US allies and partners seek to expand their sovereign space capabilities and provide resilient connectivity to their users. The key to success in this role is a comprehensive understanding of our customer's missions, design and development operations of space and ground systems, ability to drive strategy to capture of large complex campaigns, and relationships with foreign government customers and stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
- Management of new business campaign activities, including developing and driving the strategy for capturing orders, and providing oversight to cross-functional campaign teams comprised of engineering, supply chain, contracts, finance, and other supporting functions
- Management of Boeing business development gate process including preparation and presentation of materials to executive leadership, in support of decisions to pursue and bid opportunities
- Preparation of responses to customer solicitations (RFPs, RFIs), shaping ongoing capture efforts, identifying the customer’s needs and requirements, and developing winning strategies to meet the needs of our customers while growing our business portfolio
- Developing and maintaining relationships with foreign government customers and US government stakeholders
- Developing interfaces with internal Boeing resources including Boeing International colleagues in local field offices, and Industrial Participation (ISP) offset team
- Driving internal technology roadmaps, internal investments, and oversight of technical Analysis of Alternatives studies
- Knowledge of competitors' products and services to develop a detailed understanding of specific competitor activities to inform and improve our competitive positioning
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience preparing and delivering presentations or proposals to management and clients
- 3+ years of experience on space programs
- Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree
- 3+ years of experience as a Capture Team Lead or Sales Lead
- Experience working in a program management / project management role
- 5+ years of experience working with foreign and US government customers
- Understanding of basic satellite design principles and mission capabilities including SATCOM, Missile Warning, Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance
- Experience managing satellite programs as part of industry or a government acquisition organization
- Ability to develop operational / marketing plans, define and manage program funds, and write white papers for customer engagement
- Understanding of global industry-related market trends as well as customer opportunities
- Experience working on or supporting a proposal team and/or negotiating contracts
- Understanding of the US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for $145,350 - $196,650
