Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a lead or senior Avionics Project Specialist to lead teams in design of Avionics products across multiple domains. We seek a professional experienced in moving multi-skilled engineering teams through space-flight design projects, programmatic processes, and development of solutions to challenging problems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze, and maintain integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs, and change driven activities in accordance with project management best practices.
- Lead studies and analysis (trend, variance, impact). Generate reports, conduct risk assessments, and lead planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, and program initiatives.
- Identify risk and opportunity potential, develop mitigation planning, and refine the business case.
- Develop and establish lead time requirements.
- Facilitate and ensure integration of project or program plan; schedules; change; and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry.
- Be the primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives. Direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion. Coordinate commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
Work is expected to be fully onsite in El Segundo, CA.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- 3+ years of experience in project management or leading the development and implementation of new commercial aerospace product or service solutions, including leading and integrating multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading development teams for, or managing production of, electronics or units or products for aerospace or aeronautic applications as well as supplier management.
- Experience managing earned value for commercial or government contracts.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $142,950 – 192,050
