The Boeing Company — Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Long Beach Engineering team — is seeking a Certification Plan Owner to support Payloads Engineering in Long Beach, CA.
This hands-on role is integral to the certification lifecycle and requires frequent collaboration with Engineering, the Interiors Certification Group, Regulatory Administration, and cross‑site teams in Long Beach and Puget Sound. The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite in Long Beach, CA (in office five days per week).
Position Responsibilities:
Develops, manage, and control certification plans (including 737 galleys, main cabin interiors, related commodities, and subcomponents) from initial concept through final acceptance by Regulatory Administration and the FAA.
Manages multiple certification plans concurrently, ensuring alignment with project milestones and aircraft delivery schedules.
Coordinates and communicate technical information across disciplines and teams (Payloads, Electrical, Mechanical Systems, etc.).
Uses web-based tools to create, update, and track certification plans, including the Design Change Classification System (DCCS), Customer & Supplier Data Submittal Tool (CSDT), and Capto (Certification Tracking).
Interfaces with technical experts such as Design Approval Engineers (DAEs) and Engineering Unit Members (E-UMs).
Maintains clear, auditable documentation of project status and ensure timely communication to stakeholders and management.
Identifies and lead opportunities to improve certification processes, tools, and workflows.
Demonstrates and apply a solid understanding of certification flows, processes, tools, and stakeholder responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience partnering with cross‑functional teams to advance projects and initiatives.
Proven ability to independently develop practical solutions and to manage/prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and delivery schedules.
Experience with FAA and/or EASA certification processes.
Experience authoring production, component, or modification Certification Plans.
Familiarity with certification tools and databases such as Capto (Certification Tracking), DCCS, CSDT, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) request systems.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Experienced (Level 2): $80,750 - $109,250
