Boeing Saudi Arabia is seeking a Simulator Technician Lead for C-130 Aircrew Training Device (ATD) to lead the onsite ATD maintenance and support team for the C-130 Aircrew Training Device (ATD) supporting the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) in King Abdullah Air Base, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Lead will be responsible for technical leadership, planning, coordination, quality control, and escalation for all maintenance, software/firmware management, database and backup administration, and end-user support activities. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in simulator systems, proven leadership in operational environments, and the ability to coordinate closely with RSAF maintenance leadership and Boeing engineering stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and supervise the onsite ATD maintenance team (Training Device Maintenance Specialists and technicians).
Plan and coordinate daily ATD operations, maintenance schedules, software patching, backups, and system upgrades to meet training demands and availability targets.
Serve as primary technical point of contact for RSAF leadership, Boeing engineering, and subcontractors for all ATD-related issues, change requests, and technical escalations.
Develop, maintain, and enforce maintenance procedures, runbooks, and checklists for pre-op, post-op, preventive maintenance, and incident response.
Oversee system start-up, run, and shutdown procedures for complex training events and ensure simulator availability and performance.
Ensure security posture: validate software/OS/DBGS patches, anti-virus definitions, access control, and system hardening in accordance with applicable policies.
Manage database administration tasks oversight: scheduled backups, restore validation, user access management, and recovery from system failures.
Coordinate configuration control and change management activities for hardware, software, visual/IG systems, I/O, and control loading components.
Conduct technical reviews, root-cause analyses, corrective action plans, and follow-up to prevent recurrence of faults.
Lead on-the-job and formal training for team members and RSAF end-users; prepare technical reports and status briefs.
Maintain inventory and lifecycle tracking for critical spares and recommend procurement priorities.
Ensure compliance with local labor, security, and site access policies.
This is an open term contract and subject to contract award.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft simulator/training device maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Windows server and workstation environments.
Strong experience with backup/restore technologies, and DBGS concepts.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair computational, mechanical, electrical, and control-loading faults in simulator systems.
Experience with visual image generation and display systems, I/O subsystems, and networked simulator architectures.
Valid security clearance or ability to obtain local site access/clearances as required by RSAF.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prior experience supporting military customers (RSAF or equivalent) is preferred.
Excellent English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills; Arabic proficiency advantageous.
Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for planning and reporting.
Demonstrated experience in change management, configuration control, and reliability-centered maintenance.
Experience with control loading systems and real-time simulation software stacks.
Strong leadership, team development, and customer service skills with ability to operate with minimal supervision.

This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Saudi Arabia. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll and will commensurate with experience and qualifications and in accordance with applicable Saudi Arabia law. Employment is subject to the candidate's ability to satisfy all Saudi Arabia labor and immigration formalities.
