The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - DevSecOps to join the P-8A Acoustic Programs team located in Huntington Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization, specifically the P-8A Acoustic Programs team. The P-8A Acoustic Programs team provides a wide variety of Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) products to the US Navy as well as international partners.

 

In this role, you will bridge the gap between development, security, and operations, ensuring that our software delivery pipelines are secure, efficient, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, security teams, and IT operations to build automation, implement security best practices, and maintain CI/CD infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to support secure software delivery and deployment.
• Integrate security tools and practices within the development lifecycle including static and dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed security controls early in the software development lifecycle (shift-left security).
• Monitor and improve application and infrastructure security posture by automating patch management, configuration, and compliance.
• Maintain, configure, and upgrade DevOps environments and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible.
• Implement container security best practices and manage container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ContainerD).
• Respond to security incidents related to deployment pipelines and cloud infrastructure, performing root cause analysis and remediation.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to detect security events and operational issues.
• Document DevSecOps processes, procedures, and best practices for continuous improvement and team knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated on the latest security and DevOps trends, threats, and technologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

 

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance post start for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

• 5+ years of experience in cloud DevSecOps
• 5+ years of experience with Docker Kubernetes

• 3+ years of experience with integrating security tools like SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanners into CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• P4 / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
• Active Secret Clearance or higher

• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar
• 10+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Working knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, CISSP) are a plus

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range / level 4 - Senior: $146,200 - $197,800
