The Opportunity
As one of the country's leading and preferred Defence partners, Boeing Defence Australia develops and sustains leading edge technologies for some of Australia's largest and most complex Defence projects.
We are seeking an energetic and talented ICT Systems Administrator to join the team at our spectacular and ever-expanding Geraldton site. As part of a high performing team, this opportunity ensures you will be using your IT skills to make a meaningful contribution supporting the capabilities of our National Intelligence Community customer, the Australian Signals Directorate - ASD.
Responsibilities
- The Role: As a member of the Mission Assurance team, you will provide administrative support for bespoke ICT applications running on Linux operating systems and CISCO networks. You will also support a variety of high-end hardware systems. In addition to building and deploying static and virtualised systems, you will be responsible for incident/fault resolution to meet our customer's critical operational requirements. After extensive on-the-job competency training, you will participate in an on-call roster. This role cannot be performed remotely - i.e. it is fulltime, onsite.
- Role summary:
- Primarily Linux OS and bespoke applications support with limited Windows support.
- CISCO network support.
- Hardware and software Incident/fault resolution management
- Monitoring installations and improvements.
Experience/Qualifications
- About You: To be selected for interview, your resume and cover letter will include examples of your experience in Information and Communications Technology with a particular emphasis on your skills with Linux Administration (formal or self-taught). Tertiary or technical qualifications in ICT and/or Communications Engineering will be highly regarded. You will also inform us of your strong interpersonal and communication skills, your excellent problem solving skills and your ability to use initiative, prioritise and work in a fast paced environment within tight timeframes.
- Skills summary:
- Linux OS Administration.
- Highly developed problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and keenness to show initiative.
- Experience with Ansible, Python, bash and/or other Linux based automation and scripting languages highly regarded.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, RKE highly regarded.
- Tertiary or technical qualifications in ICT and/or Communications Engineering desirable but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
