Boeing Poland Software Engineering develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products to address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft markets.
The successful Experienced AvionX Software Systems Engineer will join the Boeing Poland Software Engineering team – an innovative, multi-disciplinary team of engineers designing, developing, testing and delivering embedded avionics software systems for commercial aircraft.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Poland. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Gdańsk office. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
Contribute to system-level architecture and requirements management process
Translate system-level requirements, use cases and models into software requirements and design
Contribute to design, development, verification and maintenance of software components and integrations for system-level solutions
Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with requirements, standards and best practices
Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of software certification artifacts
Identify risks, reliability and safety issues and contribute to system-level architecture and requirements management process
Track processes to ensure alignment with project plans, industry regulations and certification needs
Adopt and introduce current and emerging tools, frameworks, and development practices to improve software quality and productivity
Support software project management activities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience in developing safety-critical software (entire lifecycle)
Ability to translate system requirements into software requirements and maintain traceability
Coding and code-review experience (C, C++, embedded)
Proficiency in written and verbal English communication skills
Experience working collaboratively with systems engineers, stakeholders and suppliers.
4+ years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with industry-specific standards for development and certification relevant to the role (E.g. ARP4754 B, DO-178C)
Demonstrated design and system thinking skills
Interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering
Collaborating on international projects
Technical degree in a related field of study (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering)
