Position Description:
Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has exciting opportunities for an Engine Installations & Analysis Engineer to join our Propulsion 747/767/777/787 Engine Installations & Analysis team based in Everett, WA
This person will lead the execution of various safety and compliance investigations, certification and validation strategies for engine changes, and will function as the prime point of contact with the relevant engine supplier(s).
An ideal candidate will have experience with powerplant installations, engine fire safety, powerplant extended operations, system safety assessments, and the ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions and organizations in a dynamic teaming environment.
Ideal candidate should have experience interfacing with suppliers (engine and external components), 14-CFR-Part 33 and/or Part 25 certification experience.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads collaboration with Engine Companies for safety and compliance investigations
Supports Engine Installations & Analysis as a Powerplant Installations Engineer
Leads interactions with regulators to drive successful collaboration on Propulsion projects
Guides/advises Propulsion Program Leadership on safety and compliance investigations, including but not limited to status, risks, issues, and opportunities from an engine installations perspective
Works under minimal/no direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience with turbofan engine design, analysis and/or turbofan engine fire safety
Good Communication Skills
Good Interpersonal Skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience collaborating with external entities, such as regulators, airlines and/or suppliers
14-CFR-Part 33 and/or Part 25 certification familiarity
Familiarity with powerplant extended operations (ETOPS), in-service airline fleet support, and system safety assessments
