Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Lean Practitioner to support the BDS Operational Excellence Team in Everett, Tukwila, Renton, Seattle, or Auburn, WA
The successful candidate will have ample experience in Lean / Lean manufacturing to support Boeing Production System implementation and maturity and work collaboratively with BDS Plant manufacturing teams to drive Cost of Function project execution.
This person will be responsible for working in partnership with BDS programs / plant manufacturing teams and fabrication Centers of Excellence, along with other stakeholders throughout the enterprise, to drive the integration of BPS / Operational Excellence best practices to enable world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of Boeing Production Systems solutions to satisfy program needs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Connect Lean principles and strategy to execution and results – utilizing the Boeing Values and Behaviors and closed loop for continuous improvement
- Assist in the creation and development of Lean strategies for Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) to include all facets/ functions of business
- Assist in the creation and development, as well as deployment of systematic approach to capture and replicate innovations and improvement best practices
- Represent Lean / continuous improvement function in program reviews and strategic planning
- Operationalize data analytics into daily Lean practice and priorities
- Promotes continuous improvement tools and principles
- Assists with the developing and update of instructional materials
- Seeks out new tools and techniques
- Tailors message to specific audience level
- Guides the effective application and integration of LEAN implementation
- Actively contributes in the facilitation of complex and high visibility process improvement efforts
- Develops an integrated strategy and assists with its strategic deployment
- Applies and integrates improvement processes and tools across Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B)
- Support the development of new improvement tools. Benchmarks best practices
- Support and facilitates the improvement and standardization of enterprise policies and procedures
- Assesses business capability and capacity
- Represents the LEAN improvements function in program reviews
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience implementing lean principles, to include identifying opportunities and making recommendations for value stream improvements that resulted in improved business position through culture transformation
- 3+ years of experience planning and facilitating Lean workshops (e.g., BPSM /AIW / 3P / Kaizen / VSM, Process Mapping, AIW, DK)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Project management certification
- Knowledge and application of the Boeing Production System (BPS)
- Previous experience with business case development, stakeholder alignment, benefits capture, institutionalization, and continuous improvements

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $89,250 – $120,750 USD
