Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA), ETC (Electrical Technical Center) Electrical Design organization has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Standards Design Engineer (Experienced or Senior) in Everett, WA and Renton, WA to help us define the future of commercial aerospace with innovative ideas that advance our culture of safety and quality that our customers and the flying public expect.
Position Overview:
As a BCA Electrical Standards Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for electrical wire harness components (connectors, terminations, wiring, installation hardware, etc.) throughout their lifecycle on all Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) aircraft, including their initial conceptualization, development, qualification, design implementation, production, assembly, installation, maintenance, and obsolescence.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise and support for electrical wire harness components (connectors, terminations, wiring, installation hardware, etc.) throughout their lifecycle on all Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) aircraft, including their initial conceptualization, development, design implementation, production, assembly, installation, maintenance, and obsolescence.
Lead development projects for new electrical components:
Generate concept proposals and prototypes using CAD software
Define electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance requirements to ensure quality and safety
Coordinate with supplier engineering teams
Manage key project milestones and schedules
Communicate project status to key stakeholders
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, industry lessons-learned, manufacturing techniques, materials science, and ergonomics
Evaluate part performance through qualification testing
Implement qualified parts into Boeing design and production systems
Generate engineering documentation including design guidance, assembly and installation procedures, maintenance procedures, standards, test plans, test reports, and drawings.
Perform root cause corrective analysis (RCCA) to resolve and prevent electrical part performance issues.
Show compliance to Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) FAA regulations .
Develop and analyze engineering design dispositions on discrepancies (e.g., escapements, rejection tags, production action requests and shop revision requests). This often involves working closely and collaborating with our partners on the factory floor to ensure our designs can be built efficiently and safely.
Follow and look for improvements to documented processes, specifications and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
Develop basic statements of work and estimates.
Participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
Analyze functional and physical requirements to ensure the development of integrated designs and system architecture, actively supporting critical analysis and design reviews.
Work with and under general supervision of a lead engineer and an experienced mentor to enhance both your technical learning and career growth.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett and Renton, WA location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of industry experience in aerospace systems electrical design
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10+ years of industry experience in aerospace systems electrical design
Experience with wiring harness component development, implementation, and materials & processes (M&P)
Experience working across different engineering disciplines, airline customers and suppliers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience leading development and qualification projects
CAD experience (CATIA, Solidworks, or equivalent)
Experience with Boeing engineering drawings, specifications, and processes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range:
Experienced (Level 3): $104,550 - $141,450
Senior (Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650
