Solution Consultant – Performance Engineering
Jeppesen ForeFlight’s Global Presales organization employs Experienced or Senior Solution Consultants Virtual to solve customer problems leveraging a vast portfolio of software solutions. This position is responsible for supporting our sales and portfolio teams by providing deep expertise in performance engineering and applying that knowledge to develop and deliver strong value propositions to our customers. This role also supports on-site consultancy work leveraging expertise to improve customer operations. Key to this position is applying deep expertise in performance engineering to understand customer needs, pain points, and business processes and translating these into business solutions.
Job Functions:
- Applies performance engineering knowledge to deliver technical support to sales engagements by focusing on product value propositions.
- Analyzes customer business processes, identifies customer pain points and proposes recommended improvements through our product offerings.
- Presents and demonstrates technical system abilities and benefits of products.
- Identifies tangible & nontangible benefits and complies this information into key performance indicators that drives a strong business case for our customers.
- Leads, plans and executes consulting studies, tests and evaluations (T&Es), proof of concepts and/or benchmarks in a team environment.
- Assists in the identification of future sales opportunities (leads).
- Identifies and communicates product enhancement opportunities to product owners.
- Drives RFP business/functional response activities.
- Represents the organization as a technical expert on projects and at industry conferences.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years experience working with commercial airline operations.
- Prior experience as an aviation Performance Engineer or related role within an airline, manufacturing, consulting, or regulatory environment.
- Global travel to airline customers (~25%)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 7+ years experience working with commercial airline operations.
- Experience using or developing flight performance calculation workflows (takeoff and landing distances, climb performance, fuel consumption and range estimation, cruise speeds and altitudes, and/or weight and balance analysis).
- Prior experience developing or implementing solutions that help airlines reduce fuel costs, improve payload capacity, and/or optimize flight routes.
- Familiarity with performance regulatory standards (ie: FAR Part 25, ICAO Annex 6, etc.).
- Experience with simulation and modeling using performance predictions and flight test data.
- Working knowledge of fuel efficiency software solutions.
- Experience in a technical presales (sales engineering) role.
- A degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbally and written).
- Creative problem-solving capability, strong analytical and listening skills.
- Ability to interact with different cultures and at different leadership levels with ease.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range:
Level 4: $113,900.00-$154,100.00
Level 5: $143,650.00-$194,350.00
