Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Mission Assurance Engineer to join our Space, Intelligence & Weapons (SI&WS) team. This position is to help ensure the success of space missions. The selected candidate will be able to work in El Segundo, CA
The selected candidate will be a core member of a fast-paced, productive, and close-knit engineering team. Mission Assurance Engineers are integral to the entire product lifecycle to identify, analyze, mitigate and verify the integrity of our Boeing products. This includes collaboration with all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, requirements definition, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their fielded environments.
Primary responsibilities:
- Chair Mission Assurance Independent Reviews (MAIRs), Technical Independent Reviews (TIRs), Flight / Test Mission Assurance Readiness Reviews (F/TMARRs) and Non-Advocate Reviews for program milestones (per the Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP)) to assure program success.
- Manage and lead eRCCAs.
- Document risk assessments, analysis and control of hardware, software, and chemical hazards.
- Support design activities to provide independent assessment of system readiness.
- Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements and derived safety requirements, as well integration of technical parameters to assure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- 9+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
- Experience with aircraft systems (e.g., navigation, avionics, fuel, hydraulics, pneumatic, etc.) including operations and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Experience conducting first flight readiness reviews or flight test mission assurance readiness reviews
- An Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- 4+ years of experience with spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, and/or space mission systems
- Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $141,100 - $190,900
