Job Summary:
As Director of Launch Systems Integration, you will inspire, coordinate, and lead the launch systems team to deliver the technical work products, schedules, and budgets. The Director is the advocate for the functional engineering team to ensure they have the required resources to exceed customer expectations. You will work with the other managers and the VP of Ground Systems & Operations as a team representing the companies’ technical leaders. You will develop and sustain a vision for continued growth and improved efficiency for mission operations team.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Launch Systems Engineering
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Develops and grows the Launch Systems Integration division within GS&O
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level manager
Communication with Engineering Teams:
Provides overall company happenings and provide context to get ahead of swirl
Explains situations in context of the employee, the team, and Millennium
Implement current and long-term staffing:
Based on input from REAs and PMs, forecast work and create tentative plans for possible work allocation
Facilitate cross-team training and collaboration:
Moving flexibly between the different groups is important at Millennium and is something the Director should work to maintain
Define Technical standards:
Proposal and B&P support, technical, labor and schedule review
Establish & maintain an interview process
Mentoring and Performance Reviews of ETL’s and any other direct reports:
Providing regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports
Providing formal feedback and raise requests per company guidelines

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience as an engineering professional, with experience in functional or project management in the aerospace defense industry
Candidates should have served as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA), Project Lead, and/or functional manager in launch systems development
Candidates must demonstrate experience and knowledge of designing, building, delivering, and validating launch systems
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Currently serving in a leadership position
Demonstrated familiarity with Launch Systems Integration Responsibilities per AS9100
Demonstrated experience with launch CONOPS development, design, and delivery
Experience with developing and delivering launch Interface Control Documents
Currently serving or have successfully served as a CAM and/or managed CAMs in operations related work
Experience with external customer briefing/interfacing

Summary Pay Range:
Level L: $179,500 - $268,000
Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
