Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Specialist to join the T7-A Total Quality team located in Edwards AFB, CA!
Position may require travel to BDS site locations and other Air Force Bases according to business conditions.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides guidance for reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements
Oversees the analysis and evaluation of the quality of products, operations and processes
Applies advanced knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems
Guides or provides assistance in the root cause analysis of nonconformance.
Verifies the accuracy of analysis results by consulting with other authorities in the technical field
Oversees the process of problem resolution to ensure effectiveness of the Quality Management System
Reviews and oversees approval of Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes
Provides direction for validation of corrective action to assure causes of nonconformance has been eliminated
Creates formal analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution
Works under minimal direction and is responsible for training and mentoring technicians
Program Specific Responsibilities
Aircraft flight releases open item reconciliation and US red X sign off authority
Initiates, prepares, and maintains aircraft logbooks per requirements
Tracks Inspections and Life Limited parts in accordance with applicable service guidance
Prepares aircraft inventory records, reviews technical directives and initiates appropriate action to ensure all required changes, inspections have been accomplished and documented
Ensures appropriate aircraft and technical directive records are maintained
Maintains a log of aircraft and engine flight hours and landings
Enters flight discrepancies into Aircraft Flight Reporting System (AFRS)
Performs Engine Accounting functions per requirements
Maintains CAD/PAD records per government requirements
Demonstrates knowledge of technical orders and technical publications
Maintains aircraft build records in accordance with Records & Information Management requirement
Reviews / writes internal company processes (BPI’s) and recommends process improvements
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Final U.S. Secret clearance Prestart is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions
3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
3+ years of experience with data analysis and/or data mining
3+ years of experience working in a quality job role
3+ years of experience with Microsoft office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Experience with military maintenance in accordance Air Force instructions and forms
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher
3+ year of aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing experience
Material Review Board experience or similar Liaison Engineering experience
Experience communicating to program leadership
Familiarity USAF IMDS and CEMS maintenance tools and 781 forms
USAF Plans, Scheduling and Documentation, Familiarity with USAF T.O. 00-20-1 and AFI 21-101 and aircraft specific -6 Technical Orders.
Military logs and records keeping experience

Summary pay range: USD 102,000 - 138,000
