About the role
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) supports the Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Poseidon (P8) fleet. We work side by side with Commonwealth and industry partners, and we're looking to recruit for the role of P-8A Program Manager, located in Adelaide. This role is responsible for effectively managing all aspects of the Program and contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the Sustainment Operations Business Unit.
This is a key senior leadership role. The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the execution of the P-8A Program including management of all program baselines in accordance with project management best practice, leading customer engagements and delivery of all required contract deliverables and documentation.
- Establishing and developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating effectively with Business leaders to facilitate access to resources, identify and mitigate risks and meet key Program milestones and deliverables;
- Managing program financial performance: baseline, forecasts, approve expenditures and resource allocations within delegated authority.
- Providing strategic direction and hands-on leadership to cross-capability and functional teams (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul, Product Support, Engineering, Training, Quality, Safety, Security, Supply Chain, Finance and Contracts).
- Maintaining and enhancing a business culture that fosters employee engagement and the growth, development and retention of a skilled workforce; &
- Member of the Sustainment Operations Core Leadership Team.
To be successful you will have:
- Ownership of significant and complex business execution which will include:
- Knowledge - Deep knowledge of Defence process and experience in or familiarity with industry business process, functions, and interactions.
- Leadership - leadership of complex integration and delivery programs for Defence, ideally in the Aviation domain to ensure successful execution performance and meeting customer requirements.
- Delivering clear contract execution deliverables to the customer.
- Liaison - role requires high levels of liaison with senior customer, suppliers, Boeing and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in technical disciplines.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen including experience in leading Sustainment Programs to ensure successful business outcomes
- Tertiary qualifications in management, engineering, business or related discipline.
- Proven senior level experience in people management.
- Change management experience
