The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) who is motivated to further develop their skillset and work towards the completion of an NDI Technician traineeship over a five-year period. The position will execute AME responsibilities first and foremost whilst having the opportunity to complete an NDI traineeship. The position is required to support the P-8A Poseidon Program into the future and is based at RAAF Edinburgh in South Australia.
Responsibilities
- Be an integral part of the Edinburgh P-8A MRO Depot Maintenance Team
- Deliver products and services to our customers on a first-time quality basis
- Conducting AME routine processes while working within a dynamic team and be able to respond effectively to changing requirements
NDI Training Opportunity
- learning Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT), Magnetic Particle testing (MPT), Eddy Current testing (ECT) and Ultrasonic testing (UT) over a 5 year period
- This would be a training opportunity and if at anytime you are not meeting the expectation training will no longer be available
Experience/Qualifications
- Cert IV in Aeroskills (Avionics, Mechanical, or Structures) - Essential
- Able to meet near vision and colour perception requirements of EN4179 - Essential
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and well-developed written and verbal communication skills - Essential
- Understanding of Non-Destructive Testing applications in aviation and how they are applied within the DASR 145 regulatory framework - highly desirable
- Boeing 737-800 Series aircraft experience - highly desirable
- Experience with ADF products and processes - highly desirable
- Confined Space Entry (CSE) qualification - highly desirable
- Aviation NDT Level 2 qualifications per NAS410 or EN4179 in LPT, MPT, ECT and UT - desirable
Security Clearance
You must be an Australian citizen and be able to meet Defence security requirements. You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (NV1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
