The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Computing Architect to join the team in Dallas, TX; Hazelwood, MO; Plano, TX; Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; Kent, WA; Everett, WA; or Ridley Park, PA.
You will lead the architecture and design of end-to-end computing solutions for Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) product portfolios and integration initiatives, designing scalable, secure systems that support space and occupancy, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Building Automation Systems and Operational Technology (BAS/OT), parts and inventory management, and project management.
You will also oversee Building Information Modeling (BIM) and drawings, data warehousing, and analytics, and partner closely with Product Management, User Experience (UX), Engineering, Data, Security, and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability of GREF solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Define solution architectures that meet functional needs, non-functional requirements (scalability, availability, security, performance), and enterprise standards
Produce architecture artifacts: integration diagrams, Application Programming Interface API contracts, data models, sequence flows, deployment topologies, and solution decision records
Lead design and delivery of cross-system integrations (e.g., Corrigo ↔ Zeus, Procore ↔ Ariba, Serra view ↔ data lake), including data mapping, reconciliation strategies, error handling
Recommend synchronous vs asynchronous patterns, middleware or event streaming, and Application Programming Interface (API) gateway/Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns as appropriate
Act as technical owner in all phases including Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy and Run, define Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, guide code reviews, and set engineering practices (automated testing, observability)
Mentor developers, Functional Analysts, Development Operations (DevOps), and junior architects on design patterns, test automation, and secure coding
Collaborate with data engineers to define canonical data models for assets, locations, leases, work orders, parts, and drawings
Define Extract Transform Load/ Enterprise Landscape Transformation (ETL/ELT) approaches, data quality rules, master data management strategy, and data lineage for the GREF data warehouse
Design secure, vendor-neutral approaches for connecting BAS/OT systems and edge devices (Envio, Iconics, Brainbox) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), including protocol translation, telemetry ingestion, and edge processing patterns
Identify strategies for device lifecycle management, firmware/patching workflows, and Operational Technology/ Information Technology (OT/IT) network segmentation compliant with security policy
Ensure solutions comply with Boeing security, identity, data residency, and regulatory requirements. Specify encryption, Identify and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign On (SSO), and audit/logging controls
Work with Security/Compliance and enterprise architects to conduct threat modeling and security reviews
Evaluate vendor architecture, lead technical onboarding, and validate vendor deliverables against architecture and integration contracts
Define Service Level Agreement (SLAs), runbooks, and operational acceptance criteria for vendor-hosted Software such as Software as Service (SaaS) and Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) tools
Design for observability (metrics, logging, distributed traces), incident response playbooks, recovery objectives Recovery Time Objective/Recovery Point Objective (RTO/RPO), and automated health checks
Drive runbook and automation creation so GREF operations teams can manage and support systems with predictable SLAs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
10+ years of experience with Operational Technology
10+ years of experience with SaaS architecture and with cloud-based solutions
10+ years of experience in system engineering (e.g. Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements or Test)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in facilities management, corporate real estate systems, construction/project systems, or industrial OT environments
Experience with Corrigo, Maximo, Procore, Serraview, CoStar, SDI/Zeus, Iconics, Envio, Brainbox AI, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
Experience with protocols and technologies common to BAS/OT (BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT) and Internet of Things (IoT) device management
Experience with event streaming platforms (Kafka), middleware, or ESB products
Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) including serverless patterns and managed services for data processing
Experience with lease accounting and asset financial models (ASC 842/IFRS 16) to align technical solutions with business needs
Relevant certifications: The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure architect, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or other security/architecture credentials

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $142,800 - $207,000
